Founder & Director
Since 1991, Mrs. Lawson has been dedicated to aiding home schooling parents by providing a superior education for their children. Based upon the conviction that home schooling provides the perfect environment for the formation of character and intellect while fostering respect between parents and children, Mrs. Lawson strives to make SCA an extension of the Christian home that seeks to exalt Christ in all things.
Dean of Faculty
Mr. Lindsey earned a B.A. in History and an M.Ed from Georgia State University, an M.Div in Biblical and Theological Studies and a Th.M in Church History from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has eight years of teaching experience in both public and private schools, from middle school through college, as well as sixteen years of teaching in the church (through various Sunday school classes, children’s church, and other venues). Mr. Lindsey’s greatest passion in life is making the good news of the Lord Jesus known to those who have never heard it before and making this gospel message more clearly known to those who are already following Christ. Andrew is married to Abby, and they have three children: Christian, Georgia, and Aurora. Mr. Lindsey is a member of Kosmosdale Baptist Church in southwest Louisville.
Dean of Students and Admissions
Mr. Williams hails from the isles of the Bahamas. Mr. Williams is a former entrepreneur, and has served the church since his conversion—thirteen years ago—in various capacities. Mr. Williams moved to Louisville in 2013 to attend SBTS. He and his wife, Windy Williams, are the joy-filled parents of three children, who are all students at SCA. Along with his duties as the Dean of Students and Admissions, Mr. Williams teaches PE for SCA.
Dean of Academic Affairs
In addition to her responsibilities as Dean of Academic Affairs, Dr. Williams teaches Physical Science, and she has worked with our Mentor Moms program. In all of her work for the SCA community thus far, we have been consistently impressed with her professionalism, attention to detail, and kindness. She is married to Mr. Westte Williams, our Dean of Students and Admissions, and their three children are students at SCA.
Dean of Academics and Math/Science Coordinator
Mrs. Day holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Louisville, Speed Scientific School. Prior to starting a family, Mrs. Day was a Project Manager for a Louisville-based construction company. She and her husband, Chris, have three children, Jacob, Caitlin and Rachel, all of whom attend Sayers. Prior to coming on staff with SCA, Mrs. Day had been a part of the SCA community for six years as a home-school mom.
Front Desk and Finances Coordinator
A native of New York, Ms. Goodwin has spent most of her adult life in Kentucky and has one son who will be getting married soon. She has known Mr. and Mrs. Lawson for years through their time together at Sanctuary Church. Prior to joining the staff at SCA, Ms. Goodwin had been the Mailroom Manager for Norton Hospital; now, however, she is very much looking forward to spending her days surrounded by people instead of packages!
Events and Community Life Coordinator
Mrs. Byron completed her Undergraduate and Masters degree in Education from the University of Kentucky and taught elementary school in the Fayette County and Spencer County Public School Systems. Mrs. Byron has been a parent at SCA since 2002. Her oldest son began attending SCA as a first grader and graduated in 2014. Mrs. Byron’s second son and daughter have attended SCA since preschool and are now in 12th and 10th grade. Mr. and Mrs. Byron serve on the SCA Advisory Council.
Office Coordinator and Archives Coordinator
Miss Thieneman was home educated all over the world before moving to the Louisville area in 1999 in order to be close to family. Since then she has made several short and long term trips in the interests of missions and worked at several Christian organizations. She is also the author of two books, one on Christian biographies and one on modesty. She joined the staff at Sayers in the fall of 2014.
Mrs. Sturgeon assists in Archives three days a week. She has been married for 24 years and has nine children. She is a busy homeschooling mom to Teague, Tate, Keylee, Brayden, Ellianna, and James who are currently students at SCA. She loves the exaltation of Christ, the challenge of classical education, and the like-minded community found at SCA. She is also the co-author of one book, which is a fundraising project for Children’s Heart Project.
